Speaker Series: “Autism, a Disorder of Many Stripes, Hues, and Challenges,” by Prof. Susan Maloney, PhD, Parkway UCC, Town & Country

November 9 @ 11:15 am - 12:30 pm
Prof. Maloney is the Director of the Animal Behavior Unit and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine at Washington University. Her research focuses on the impact of genetic and environmental liabilities for intellectual and developmental disorders (IDD). IDDs are differences that are present at birth and affect the trajectory of the individual’s physical, intellectual, and/or emotional development, which includes autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Her work supports and conducts research on what causes autism, how to detect signs of autism and treat autism.

This is one of Parkway’s acclaimed Speakers Series program and all are welcome from the Missouri Mid-South Conference community.
This program is brought to our friends in the Missouri Mid-South Conference for free by Parkway UCC. We customarily have two programs each month on Sundays following worship. Our topics include a wide array of subjects, some religious, most not as much. We have had beekeepers. birders, and naturalists, judges, public servants, an Amazon supervisor, a trans man, journalists, foreign students, doctors, AI experts, biblical scholars, historians, paroled convicts, federal prosecutors, public defenders, authors, poets, sociologists, genealogy consultants, and scientists. Information about upcoming programs may be accessed via our website at www.parkwayucc.org.

The speaker will appear live in Parkway’s Heritage Room.
