CAG will be taking place online and in person at William Wood University. Please register to attend, indicating the in-person or via Zoom options.
You must register for each event you will attend. Please follow each link separately.
Conference Annual Gathering begins with Opening Worship at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning and concludes Saturday afternoon by 4:00 p.m. with Closing Worship.
Schedule is as follows:
8:30 a.m.: Arrival/Breakfast
9:00 a.m.: Opening Worship
9:15 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.: Business Meeting, Conversation/Program
11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: Lunch
12:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Business Meeting, Conversation/Program

Closing Worship
The Reverend Dr. Dane R. Sommer, D.Min, M.Div, BCR
The Rev. Dr. Dane R. Sommer, a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ, was baptized, confirmed, and ordained at First Congregational UCC in Waterloo, Iowa. He received his Master of Divinity from the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, New Brighton, Minnesota. He received his Doctor of Ministry from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, completing a qualitative research project entitled “How Children Die: A Narrative Review of Twenty-Two Pediatric Deaths.”
Dr. Sommer began his ministry at Bethel UCC in Kansas City and has held standing in the Western Association of the Missouri Mid-South Conference for over 47 years. He served as Director of Spiritual Services at Children’s Mercy Hospital from 1987–2021, where he built a nationally recognized program of compassionate care. He received multiple honors, including the Gene Stanford Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Courage and Collaboration from the Midwest Transplant Network. He also founded the Pediatric Chaplains Network and teaches clinical ethics as an adjunct assistant professor at Kansas City University.
He currently serves as pastor of Faith UCC in Prairie City and Valley Center UCC in Deepwater. Within the Conference, he has served on the Committee on Ministry, helped develop Boundary Training, and is completing his term as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors. Recently nominated as Chairperson, he shares, “I am honored to bring vision, hope, and healing to the beloved Body of Christ.”
Dane and his wife, Sharla, have three children and three grandchildren. His passions include running and playing guitar.
