Our Bodies, Our Faith Retreat
For Youth Grades 6-12 from UCC and Disciples Churches from Central Missouri
Keynotes: Rev. Sarah Kingsbery and Rev. Nick Larson
An opportunity to help youth make healthy decisions in faithful and life-enhancing ways, focusing on sacred values and a shared identity as children of God.
With all curriculum geared toward the needs of middle and high school students according to their age, students will learn about positive self-esteem, healthy relationships, digital communication, and ways to counter false information about their bodies.
By giving youth the tools to embrace and respond faithfully to the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social aspects of sexuality, the retreat takes a holistic approach that recognizes and respects diversity with respect to biological sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability status in addition to cultural and racial background.
