Seeking volunteers from Memorial Day weekend through mid-October each Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. As a fair-trade store, the purpose is to help local artisans sell their unique craft to the public with them earning supplemental income from whatever they charge for their items.
To keep overhead low and the store open every weekend, volunteers operate it. Duties include:
Because a typical sales day sees two to eight groups of customers, only one person is needed per day but couples or friends can volunteer together.
Please note: The store is not climate controlled, however, volunteers can access the climate-controlled Nature Center next door. Also, there are a few steps to navigate, and the store flooring is made of wood chips.
During downtime, volunteers may bring a good book to read, enjoy watching the hummingbirds and other wildlife, or browse the internet on available free Wi-Fi. After the 3 p.m. store closing, volunteers have time daily to explore the beautiful Ozark area, including Echo Bluff State Park, Akers Ferry, Round Springs, Alley Springs Mill and Park, Devil’s Well, Rocky Falls, Current River State Park, and the small towns of Salem and Eminence, Mo. All are close enough for day visits.
Volunteers have free lodging nearby across the road in a newly renovated, climate-controlled cabin with bedding and towels provided, or can opt to use a free onsite campsite with water and electric hookups included.

Donated by retired pastors and their families over the years, the collection is open for browsing from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays on the first level of Schulz Hall.
