Conference Youth Event 2025

The MMS-UCC Conference Youth Event is for youth in 6th-12th grade and their youth leaders.

Location (not at Camp MoVal):
Columbia United Church of Christ
3201 I-70 Drive Northwest

Schedule:
Friday:
• Check-in between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM (eat before arrival)
• 8:00 PM Programming begins with get-to-know-you games
Saturday:
• 8:00 AM Breakfast on site
• COMO Mission from 9:00-12:00
• 12:00 PM Head to ARC Activity and Recreation Center of Columbia, MO, for lunch, swimming, gym recreation activities (Pickleball, basketball, volleyball), and shower. The ARC Water Zone is a 12,988 sq. feet leisure pool maintained at 84-86 degrees with zero depth entry, interactive water play structure, triple-loop water slide, lazy river, vortex, three 25-yard lap lanes, and a concession area (bring your own money if you want concession items).
• 5:30 PM Head back to Columbia UCC for dinner and evening programming.

Sunday: Breakfast on site, then worship with Columbia UCC at 10:30 AM. The program ends after worship.

*We need a 1:8 ratio of adult leaders to youth. Youth leaders are encouraged to join their youth for this CYE experience. All adults must complete a background check.

**Each youth group is responsible for transportation to the event and to and from the mission site and ARC. Individuals who come without a youth group will use transportation provided by the COMO mission site. A 15-passenger van is available on-site for transportation.

Packing List:
• Sleep Items: Air mattress or sleeping pad, sleeping bag, pillow, etc.
• Toiletries: Shower items and personal hygiene items (toothbrush, paste, hair brush, etc.)
• Medicines: All medicines will be checked in with the Nurse and stored in a locked container. Bring medications in original labeled packaging.
• Snacks: Please bring a snack to share for evening snacks. Prepackaged and labeled with allergy information.
• Camp fire sit-upon: Please bring something small to sit on around the campfire (blanket, towel, sit-upon)
• Donation Item for Mission Site: Groups are encouraged to bring a donation item for one of the COMO mission sites. Items needed: High Protein Can Goods (chicken, tuna, meat, beans), New socks and underwear in all sizes.
• Bathing Suit for ARC, if you wish to swim.
• All attendees are required to bring their own towels for showering and swimming.
