DESCRIPTION:Boundary Awareness Training 3.0: Rural and Small Town Clergy\n\n Thursday\, May 7\, 2026 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM ET\nThese trainings are for seasoned clergy who have already taken a 2.0 BAT. Often focused on a specific ministry experience\, participants will practice new skills and workshop case studies with colleagues. We are currently developing this level of classes.\n\nRural & Small Town Clergy BAT ~ This explores what is unique (and not) about serving in a rural or small town setting and what particular practices encourage strong and healthy ministry.\n\nGood professional boundaries allow ministry and those who do it to thrive with health and wholeness. Through the lens of clergy wellness\, authorized ministers will renew their understanding of and develop skills for maintaining boundaries in an ever-shifting ministry landscape.\nThe cost for the training is: SNEUCC Clergy – $65.00; all other Clergy – $85.00.\nIf you have questions regarding the training\, please contact Deb Holmes at holmesd@sneucc.org or 508-244-4399. All trainings are listed in Eastern Time.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\nClass Details\n\nPlease note that registration closes 7 days before the session so that participants have ample time to do the pre-work\, and classes are capped at 50 participants\nOur Boundary Awareness Trainings combine teaching\, skill building\, small group discussion and personal reflection for a dynamic and collaborative experience. All levels of BAT are in alignment with best practices from the UCC\, other denominations and secular professions. Breaks (and lunch when a full day) are included.\nWe incorporate clergy wellness in all our trainings. Why? Ministry is rewarding; it can also be stressful and demanding. Recent surveys have shown a significant increase in clergy burnout and desire to leave ministry. Clergy whose personal needs are not met in healthy and appropriate ways tend to blur\, push or violate ministerial boundaries. A survey of clergy done by Rev. Dr. Jerry Streets found that “clergy who engaged in multiple and frequent self-care strategies experienced higher well-being than that clergy who did not engage in multiple and frequent self-care strategies.” We care about our clergy; we want them to be healthy and whole\, for the sake of their ministries and their own belovedness.\nPlease check with your Association’s Committee on Ministry to inquire whether these trainings meet their requirement for maintaining UCC ministerial standing. He loves pushing creative boundaries\, paying homage to history\, and sourcing local materials. Ted vows he can build anything and he will prove it with his account and photo journey of two of his most unusual projects; one converting a fire damaged\, condemned wreck of a structure in the Gravois Park neighborhood into a modern home\, and the other a Land Reutilization Authority property he bought for $1\,000.00 and converted into a Southside jewel.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is one of Parkway’s acclaimed Speakers Series program and all are welcome from the Missouri Mid-South Conference community.\n\n\n\n  \nThe speaker will appear live in Parkway’s Heritage Room.

DESCRIPTION:All-In tour 25 kickoff FLYER \nGreetings\, Missouri Mid-South! \n  \nI wanted to invite you all to a special hybrid event All-In UCC & Music Project is hosting on August 28 at Zion UCC in Union and online! \n  \nOn September 8\, I will be presenting a paper to the Born to Run at 50 Conference at the Bruce Springsteen Archives at Monmouth University in West Long Branch\, NJ! The paper is entitled “Born to Run: An Expression of the Liberative\, Divine Movement That Is Rock n Roll.” This opportunity created another opportunity: reviving the All-In Tour. \n  \nWith the support of the Eastern Association\, I did my first such tour in 2013 on my way to General Synod in Long Beach\, playing shows in food pantries\, homeless shelters\, and other ministries for the impoverished. I did several more after that which included shows at churches\, regular venues\, and included educational components for fellow travelers. It is time to bring it back\, so I will be doing a short All-In Tour in the northeast in the week leading up to the conference\, hopefully with my family accompanying me. The event on August 28th is a tour kick off; your chance to experience the music and presentation I’ll be sharing during the tour\, and an opportunity to send us off well. It is free\, but we will collect donations to support the effort. \n  \nI hope you will join us in-person or online.
