However\, immigration is also controversial. There is a debate about whether immigration of unskilled workers leads to downward pressure on wages and even unemployment of native workers. Here to help sort these issues out is Jon Haveman\, an expert on the economics of immigration.. DESCRIPTION:Bethel United Church of Christ\, 4900 NE Parvin Road\, Kansas City\, MO\, will host Protecting Houses of Worship training on Monday\, October 6\, from 10 am to noon. This training is being offered free of charge by the FBI for all clergy and lay leaders. \nThis training will focus on how houses of worship can actively take steps to better safeguard their spaces from external threats. We’ll discuss law enforcement response to active threats\, what individuals should do if they encounter an active threat\, and discuss some of the civil rights and hate crime activities the FBI is seeing. \nSpecial agents from the FBI\, Assistant United States Attorneys\, and local law enforcement will be conducting the training and answering your questions. \nAs seating is limited\, advanced registration is helpful\, but not mandatory. Dr. Eikmann shares the stories of a selection of images and objects from various St. Louis archives that reveal an unknown side of St. Louis history. The presentation is fun\, upbeat\, and conversational spanning from the nineteenth century to today\, from newspapers and magazines to photography and phonograph records. It begins at Zion\, and ends up there.\nThe Walk is done through Church World Service. 25% of the Walk proceeds will benefit\ntwo local Food Pantries: Union Food Pantry; and Second Blessings.\nThe other proceeds will be distributed by CWS to communities near and far\,\nwherever the needs are greatest. Walkers are encouraged to support CWS by gifts of money\,\nand to bring gifts of non perishable food which will be given to a local group.\nAlso\, it is hoped Walkers will ask others to support them on the Walk. We hope many people\nwill join in this Walk\, so that the Walk will bless many\, many who are needing help ! Come join us.
